We offer you the best way to visit Laguna
De los Tres, a day-long excursion from El Calafate.
The transport will wait for you as you take on
the Fitz Roy Trail for 8 hours, covering a total of 20 km,
and rising a total of 1,200 meters in total altitude.
The most classic, spectacular, and unforgettable trekking
experience in Southern Patagonia! The visit to Laguna de los
Tres is a must-see from El Chaltén.
It is one of the most beautiful lookout points for the
panoramic views of Fitz Roy. Getting there means
trekking one of the longest trails, but finally getting
there is worth the effort.
You will pass through different scenic views–some more
wooded, others more austere, and with water mirrors,
until you reach Laguna de los Tres.
During the winter season, the main landscape is the
snow. We provide you with the crampons and poles
so you can trek safely on your climb to the view point.
The transport will wait for you so that you can follow the Fitz Roy Trail from El Chaltén–a 20-kilometer route that takes approximately 9/10 hours of trekking, rising a combined 1,200 meters in altitude.
The first 4 kilometers will be to warm up, with an incredible view of the Río de las Vueltas Valley, crossing forests and streams, until reaching Laguna Capri.
Then you will continue along the same path until Km 8, where you will find Camping Poincenot and the White River.
The hardest climb begins at Camping Poincenot. In this instance, we recommend paying attention to the schedule, since it will take approximately 4 hours to descend to town from Laguna de los Tres.
The path back is the same as the path out; We suggest paying attention to the only detour point, which is Mirador del Fitz Roy. This detour should not be taken as, in case of search or rescue, the indicated path is through Laguna Capri. At 7:00 p.m. there will be a meetup in El pueblo, the same spot where we started the day.
